Biography

Anum Mustafa is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at MIT. Her research interests are in public opinion, political behaviour and state-society relations, specifically in the context of environmental governance and climate change. Her dissertation explores the attitudes of ordinary Americans on climate change and energy policy, focusing on partisan polarization and the potential role for religious institutions. She also has ongoing work on environmental policymaking in Pakistan.

Anum has a BSc in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Pakistan, and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge in the U.K. Prior to joining MIT, Anum worked as an economic consultant for Deloitte in London and as a project manager at the Center for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP) in Lahore. ​
